INTERSTATE STATE PARK FALL ENGAGEMENT

I swear Interstate State Park has a new story around every corner – which made it a serious no-brainer to spend an evening running around the park in Taylor’s falls this past September for Mackenzie and Jake’s engagement session. We had been trying to plan a time around the time Minnesota’s fall colors would be peaking on the leaves, and it added so much variety to the already beautiful park.
Funny story, Mackenzie and I actually met back in preschool, and it was quite a while after we reconnected in our early middle school years that we had made the connection. I had stumbled upon a picture of the two of us going down a slide at our preschool, and there was no mistaking that it was us – and it comes around full circle now that I get to photograph their special day!
Typical to Minnesota, we had a blisteringly hot day despite it being near the end of September, but these two were down for anything. We walked and talked until the sun dipped below the tree line, and ended with a refreshing dip in the river to stop the sweat in its tracks.
We ended the night with a sunset-sendoff and well-wishes as Mackenzie was celebrating her birthday, too! (And choosing to spend their birthday celebration with me is equally as cool as how these images turned out.)
Mackenzie + Jake, I’m stoked for your wedding this summer – marking off the beginning of something so sweet, and I’m honored to be the one to tell that story.
