A St. James Hotel wedding in the snow | Guys, this wedding was crazy. Seriously, this day was the epitome of a spring day in Minnesota. This past April we had the biggest snowstorm the Twin Cities had ever seen, and it was no joke. One day quickly turned into an entire weekend spent in Red Wing to celebrate this beautiful marriage – and it was certainly a crazy start to my 2018 wedding season! I drove in the night before and stayed through the next night to stay clear of the snow, but there was just no stopping it. It was a legitimate blizzard that lasted DAYS. But, I’d say the real silver lining here is that Bailey had always dreamed of having a winter wedding, and Luke always liked the idea of a spring wedding – this, friends, was the best of both worlds!
My second photographer for the day actually made the drive from Fargo, North Dakota to Red Wing, Minnesota, and it took her almost three times the typical length to drive that distance. Thankfully, no injuries happened the entire weekend, but let’s hope the next unexpectedly snowy wedding day isn’t this crazy!
If you haven’t already, be sure to also check out Bailey and Luke’s engagement session that we did last fall!
