As a true Minnesotan, I don’t know that it gets much more “Minnesota” than having your engagement photos taken among the tall pines and clouds of mosquitoes like we had at Montissippi Regional park in Monticello, MN. I mean, I’m sure there is a multitude of ways you can pay tribute to your Minnesota roots for your engagement session, but there really isn’t anything that compares to the true hardiness that is needed to pretend like you aren’t being eaten alive by those nasty bugs. Needless to say, whether Gareth is from Minnesota or not, I’m sure you can tell by these photos that Megan did a great job of letting him know what to expect, because they made this mosquito feeding frenzy look like a dream.
These two no longer live in the area, but couldn’t say no to a wedding on the lake at Megan’s family cabin here in MN – and, of course, neither could I! If their wedding day is going to be anything like this day was, take this as a warning. Start prepping yourself for the beauty to come from that this August!
Until then, let me know what you love from their session? Have any of you had a similar experience with mosquitos when you’re shooting, or had your photos taken? I want to hear about it all! š
